​As the oldest therapeutic foster care program in Ohio, YAS has provided high-quality treatment foster care, while working collaboratively with other child serving agencies to develop and implement a community support system for families.

This position plays a key role in the foster care team by planning, coordinating, and participating in all foster parent recruitment activities and events for the foster care program (i.e. open house, festivals). The Intake & Recruitment Specialist develops/implements agency recruitment plan; ensures foster parent recruitment compliance with contract requirements, COA standards, and regulatory requirements from ODJFS, MEPA, and the Indian Child Welfare Act. Additional duties include: assisting with filing for foster family recruitment, placement, and training documentation; reviewing youth referrals for matching potential with YAS foster parents and then presenting referrals to foster parents and offering appropriate homes to referring counties in a timely fashion; updating placement/respite logs, internal client data, FCCS SharePoint, and produce notice of change forms (NOC’s) for all foster youth movements and required information; completing census report daily for referrals;  coordinating foster youth respite and ensuring that community respite placement files have all needed documents per ODJFS requirements and contract requirements. The position may also assist with youth transportation, foster parent safety home checks, and other duties as assigned. 


High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. One year of recruiting or licensing experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, computer skills, timeliness, efficiency, and reliability a must.  Valid driver’s license required. Automobile insurance with minimum liability amounts, as specified by agency policy, required.
