The Healthy Families America Home Visiting program provides critical support, resources, and strategies to at-risk, overburdened families. Services focus on expectant and new parents and include family assessment, child development screening, and parenting education. We help families gather the knowledge and resources they need to help their children thrive. Our Home Visitation services are designed to increase prenatal care, decrease pre-term/ low weight babies, reduce child maltreatment, and help parents and their children develop strong, loving bonds that will last a lifetime.

The Director of Home Visitation is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the Healthy Families America Home Visiting Program at Youth Advocate Services.  The Director of Home Visitation will supervise and assist program staff (Home Visitors) as they fulfill all federal and state mandated responsibilities. These include but are not limited to providing children aged 0-3 and their families access to developmental screening, parent survey, the development and implementation of the Family Plan, providing referrals to appropriate service providers, and connection to community-based services that will support and promote the well-being of the child(ren) and the family.  The Director of Home Visitation will provide supervision, support, and consultation to the Home Visitors. This position is responsible for the hiring and training of Home Visitors. Additionally, the position works in collaboration with the agency assigned Ohio Department of Health HV Consultant to ensure strong program oversight and compliance with all state and HFA mandated rules and policies. 


Bachelor’s degree in social work with LSW; Master’s Degree in Social Work with LSW and prior experience working with Home Visiting/Healthy Families America programs strongly preferred. Interpersonal skills, judgement, flexibility, and commitment are essential to the position as well as the ability to work a flexible schedule. Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group supervision along with willingness to provide coverage and to respond to emergencies as needed. Valid driver's license required.
