Join Us in Making a Difference:
Become a Foster Parent for Black Youth

Black youth are overrepresented in foster care both nationwide and in Ohio, often spending more time in the system than other children.

Ensuring that these children are placed in loving homes that understand and meet their cultural needs is crucial for their well-being. By keeping youth within their communities and recruiting foster parents who reflect their values and identity, we can provide them with a sense of stability and belonging.

As a foster parent, you offer a child who has experienced abuse or neglect a safe and loving environment, while enriching your own life with joy and purpose as you teach life skills and offer support.

If you're interested in learning more about fostering, YAS is here to support you every step of the way. We provide:

  • Free training classes offered both online and in person
  • Ongoing training and support 24/7/365
  • A community of people like you who care about helping children and families
  • Monthly reimbursement to meet the child’s needs, including assistance with back-to-school supplies and holiday gifts
  • And much more!
